Curated Tours | Luxury Private Safaris & Curated Trips

Planning a trip can look simple from the outside.

Choose a destination. Book a flight. Find a hotel. Create an itinerary.

But creating a truly seamless travel experience involves far more than putting together a list of bookings.

At Curated Tours, every recommendation we make comes with responsibility.

And sometimes, that means saying no.

When a Cheaper Option Isn't the Better Option

From time to time, a client may find a cheaper Airbnb or accommodation property online and ask us to include it in their itinerary.

We completely understand the desire to save money. Travel is an investment, and everyone wants to get value for what they spend.

However, there are times when we have to politely decline, particularly when a property does not meet the standards we are comfortable putting our name behind.

And we are not apologetic about that.

A beautiful listing and attractive price do not always tell the full story.

Before recommending accommodation, there are important factors to consider beyond how good the photos look online.

What We Consider Before Recommending a Property

As a TRA accredited company, Curated Tours has standards and responsibilities to uphold.

When evaluating accommodation options, we consider factors such as:

Of course, this does not mean that hotels are automatically better than Airbnbs or independent properties.

There are many beautiful Airbnbs, boutique stays, villas, and independent accommodations that offer exceptional experiences. When they meet our standards, we are happy to recommend them.

The issue is never simply whether a property is a hotel or an Airbnb.

The question is whether we would feel confident placing our clients there.

Why We Sometimes Say No

Sometimes the safest or most reliable option may cost a little more.

And yes, there have been occasions where choosing not to compromise has meant losing a booking.

But we believe some things should never be negotiated simply to make a trip cheaper.

When a traveler books with Curated Tours, they are trusting us with more than flights, hotels, and activities.

They are trusting us with their time.

Their money.

Their comfort.

Their safety.

And often, some of life's most important moments.

A honeymoon.

A family holiday.

A milestone birthday.

A long awaited dream trip.

That responsibility matters to us.

Travel Planning Is About More Than Finding the Lowest Price

One of the biggest misconceptions about working with a travel company is that the job is simply to find the cheapest available options.

But thoughtful travel planning goes much deeper.

It is about understanding the traveler and making recommendations based on their needs while considering the details they may not know to look for.

The cheapest room isn't always the best value.

The lowest priced property isn't always the safest choice.

And a beautiful online listing doesn't always guarantee a seamless experience.

Sometimes, paying a little more can mean greater peace of mind and a significantly better travel experience.

What You're Really Paying For

When you book a curated trip, you're not simply paying for someone to make reservations.

You're paying for knowledge.

Experience.

Research.

Professional judgment.

And someone who is willing to make decisions with your best interests in mind.

Even when those decisions aren't necessarily the cheapest ones.

At Curated Tours, we believe that a great trip should feel effortless to the traveler.

But behind that effortless experience is careful planning and a commitment to getting the details right.

We would rather lose a booking than knowingly recommend something we wouldn't choose for ourselves.

Because ultimately, our goal isn't for you to return home thinking you got the cheapest deal.

We want you to return home saying:

“That was worth every dollar.”
